While standing outside a shop chatting to a friend the other day who was out for a spin on his rather large motorbike, a lady passing by was heard to remark to her companion ” I don’t know how they go round on those yolks, sure aren’t they fierce dangerous altogether ” to which he quickly replied ” you’re so right, but what’s the point of tiptoeing through life only to find yourself safely at death’s door!”
Drive north from Sligo for a wee bit then down the steep hill through Rathcormac and on a bit until you pass the church at Drumcliffe where my grandmother played the organ and bullied the choir into shape for years…oh and Yeats is buried in the graveyard there too.
Over the river and turn left after Davis’ restaurant and on down the road towards the village of Carney. Tun left at Laura’s pub and drive on and on passing lovely Lissadell on your left (behind the trees) and on a bit more to Magherow crossroads.
Turn left at Jordan’s pub and off down the road with you passing Ardtarmon castle on the left and turn right at Raghley up around the headland past the Puffin’ hole over the top of the hill and there it is….Raghley Harbour.
Now, wasn’t that worth it!
This is a preview of the music for the story of “Layliana”, the first in a series of Fairytales (Books with Graphic audio and Illustrations) by James & Susan Blennerhassett & Vitya Malirsh which will be published later this year.
I will be starting a Fundit campaign shortly to help us get the first two books published. Please keep an eye out for this project and I would appreciate your help in this labour of love.
