Just a bit younger!

Gentlemen, bring forth thy four stringed upright machines and play!

Gentlemen, bring forth thy four stringed upright machines and play!

Bumped into “Smithy”, who I haven’t seen in ages, the other day. When I was starting out on Bass, Smithy was an inspiration to me. He was playing in band called “Spud” and I used to follow them around and watch and listen to him playing fantastic stuff on his red Fender P Bass. I’m sure I was a nuisance but he was and is a complete gentleman and very generous with his time to an aspiring young Bassist.

That perfect moment between Night and Day.

Shannon on the Barrow

Played an outdoor concert with Sharon Shannon in Carlow (beside the river Barrow) on saturday night, what a buzz, you couldn’t have squeezed another soul into the town square it was so packed and a beautiful warm evening just to make it even better.

So much fun to play with Sharon and the band again after quite a few years, it’s amazing how the tunes come back to you once you hear them again….more of that please 🙂

Lost in music….

The Fureys and Davey Arthur

I was very proud to been involved in the production of this album of favourite songs by the Furey brothers and Davey Arthur.
George, Eddie and myself had many hours of music, stories, biscuits and just good fun in the making of this one and I got to play a few instruments on it as well!
Check it out if you get a chance, there are some great songs old and new here.
